Acer palmatum 'Kagiri nishiki'  

Acer palmatum 'Kagiri nishiki' is a medium-sized maple, with fabulous variegated, cream, green and pink leaves. Quite vigourous eventually making a large shrub or small tree growing in a classic vase shape. Not often seen but should be more popular due to it's robust habit and unusual colour palette.

 

    Position? part shade to shade; sheltered site preferred out of strong winds
    Soil? all soils, but avoid waterlogged areas; very dry soils will need extra watering
    Eventual size? 5 to 6 metres, but can be pruned
    Habit? deciduous; open, vase-like habit
