A fairly recent introduction, Acer palmatum 'Beni-kawa' rivals 'Sango kaku' for its coral-coloured stems in winter. The leaves are fairly small, remaining a fresh green throughout the summer and turning a remarkable butter yellow in the autumn. Less prone to winter dieback, as can happen to 'Sango kaku'. A lovely, medium-sized tree. |
