Acer palmatum 'Shishigashira' is well known to bonsai enthusiasts; it has very slow, compact growth and small leaves, hence the name meaning 'Lion's Mane'. The dark green foliage does not scorch easily in strong sunlight and the autumn colour is an array of bright golden yellows infused with purple. An excellent maple for container cultivation. |
