Chamaerops humilis, the Mediterranean Fan Palm is the only truly European palm and one of our most popular due to its remarkable ability to withstand most situations. Its robust nature makes it a good palm for coastal conditions and windy sites and the slow growth means that it is ideal as a specimen palm for a pot.
It is tolerant of heavy frosts when sited in full sun and free-draining soil and will mature into a large, bushy specimen. Will also be quite happy in a conservatory or sun room.
