Eucalyptus perriniana, the Spinning Gum has very attractive circular juvenile foliage. It gets its common name from the fact that when the leaves die, they tend to remain on the stems (severed from the main stem) and will spin round as the wind blows. The mature foliage of the tree is the traditional sickle shaped leaf. This tree can be easily coppiced each year to ensure masses of circular leaves and a manageable sized plant. |
