Phylostachys vivax Aureocualis  
Phyllostachys vivax 'Aureocaulis' is simply the biggest and best golden bamboo! It will reach a similar size to the species but has amazing gold canes with intermittent green striping. Perhaps the best specimen bamboo you can grow - just make sure you feed and water it well for the best results. If you have room for a big bamboo, either planted or in a large container, then this is the one! We recommend using bamboo root barrier for this bamboo.
    Position? sun to part shade; out of cold, drying winds - especially coastal winds
    Soil? all soils, but avoid waterlogged areas; very dry soils will need extra watering
    Eventual size? up to 6 metres, but can be pruned
