Pleioblastus viridstriatus  
Pleioblastus viridistriatus is a lovely dwarf golden leaved bamboo that can reach 75 centimetres in height. It can be clipped back in early spring to promote masses of lush new growth. It works particularly well as a small hedge and equally well as a specimen. Ideal for the small garden or where space is at a premium. We recommend bamboo root barrier for this plant.
    Position? part shade to full shade; out of cold, drying winds - especially coastal winds
    Soil? all soils, but avoid waterlogged areas; very dry soils will need extra watering
    Eventual size? up to 1 metre, but can be pruned
