Seaweed extract is a fantastic fertiliser and plant food for all plants and vegetables. We offer an array of various fertilisers produced by a local family in Shetland. They use a renewable harvesting technique which is carefully monitored by a sustainable management plan, approved by Scottish Natural Heritage.

The raw material "Ascophyllum nodosum" is a type of bladder weed which grows naturally in the area and is harvested manually from the beaches at low water. The harvesting operation is manually intensive and involves the seaweed being cut with a hand knife leaving sufficient stalk to ensure re-growth. The seaweed is collected into baskets or nets which are transported by trailer to the processing area.

Seaweed extract is a fantastic plant food, full of nutrients and high in trace elements. Endorsed and used by Big Plant Nursery, it is organic, sustainable and harvested by a local family in Shetland.
