Golden Bamboo

January News..

With the weather being so mild there are lots of jobs to do on the nursery. This month see's us start our grafting of Ginkgo, Betula, Acers and a few Magnolia plus we'll be sowing seeds and lot's of potting up. In the garden I've managed to get out and plant a few more trees and am bracing myself for a big tidy up and pruning session.

Bamboo continues to be popular both big and small with lot's being used as screens or hedges, a job it does very well. Choose the larger more boisterous bamboo such as Phyllostachys aurea or P. bissettii for a great hedge and remember they can be clipped just as you would a conifer hedge. Do bear in mind though these bamboo require a root barrier when planting.

If you have time please look at our links page, amongst the horticultural information there are 2 things that we feel passionate about. The state of our seas and the fish and birds that depend on them, please sign up for Hugh's Fish Fight Campaign and if you can help support the RSPB's fight to save the Albatross.

olive trees for sale   Olive Trees.. still the biggest range in the U.K.

As many of you know Olive trees are becoming regular sites in both private and commercial gardens.

We have always strived to research and provide the best possible range and quality of plants suitable for growing here in the U.K.

Right now at the nursery, we probably have the best selection this side of Tuscany from young trees right up to ancient gnarled specimens
