Abelia 'Francis Mason' is a glossy leaved architectural small to medium sized shrub. Producing masses of pinky white flowers in early summer this evergreen or semi-evergreen bushy shrub has arching stems covering in fine multi-coloured glossy foliage ultimately reaching up to 120cm high and wide. The gold tinged green leaves develop a nice golden through to russety bronze colour that tends to stand out among other plants in the garden, planted in small groups the effect can be quite stunning. The profuse clusters of small, fragrant pinky white tubular flowers are very rich in nectar making them attractive to butterflies and honey bees.
Can be also be used as a low informal hedge.

Abelia 'Francis Mason' is a hardy and easily cared for plant. As always use a good quality planting compost mixed 50/50 with your soil and water well once planted. For best results top dress each year in early spring with a good organic fertiliser.
