Laurus nobilis, The Bay Tree, is a conical evergreen tree or large shrub with glossy, dark green, aromatic leaves. During early summer masses of sulphar tiny flowers are produced much loved by bees and other pollinaters. Will respond very well to pruning, producing lovely dense foliage. This plant does well in coastal situations. Immediately reminiscent of the Mediterranean and very under-rated as a high quality hedging plant. Thrives in sun or shade in any reasonable soil sheltered from cold, drying winds. Dry the leaves for use in cooking!
Large specimens both for topiary and hedging are available for special delivery, please call us for details.
