Elaeagnus ebbingii, Oleaster, is a vigorous shrub with glossy, dark green leaves with a silver sheen and underside. Tiny, very sweetly fragrant creamy white flowers are produced on the stems amongst the leaves in late summer followed by small, orange fruits in the winter. This is one of the most outstanding shrubs for coastal exposure and also makes an excellent hedge. A truely versatile, hardy shrub suitable for a wide range of conditions where it always looks good with a minimum of maintence. Is happy to be clipped to shape or left to grow naturally. Happy in all soils except waterlogged, full sun to shade.
Large specimen standards and screens are also available from our nursery, please contact us for further details.
