This popular variety boasts primrose yellow, spidery flowers in the winter months with a sweet scent giving welcome interest to the winter garden.  The flowers are present for several weeks from December to February, coming out in succession and are then followed in spring with soft green leaves. Another stunning performance takes place in the autumn with the leaves changing to red, orange and yellow before dropping for the winter.  An excellent shrub with changing interest through the seasons. Hamamelis 'Arnold Promise' is considered to be one of the heaviest bloomers of the yellow-flowering varieties of witch hazel. Height and spread of 4m x 4m in 10-20 years.

Hamamelis x intermedia hybrids are crosses between Japanese with hazel (Hamamelis japonica) and Chinese witch hazel (Hamamelis mollis)

Plant Care

Prefers fertile, free draining soil in sun/part shade.  Plant with a good quality compost pruning if desired after flowering or cut and enjoy a few sprigs in the house.  Remove suckers.
