Description Q & A Description

Cordyline australis, the Cabbage Palm or Torbay Palm is not actually a palm but has a palm like appearance naturally originating from New Zealand. It is amongst the easiest exotic plants to grow with 'Pink Champagne' being a particularly striking variety with pink, green and cream stripes. It is very tolerant of wind and coastal exposure and in a mild garden can grow into a small tree. Cordyline australis 'Pink Champagne' is an excellent plant for containers or in mixed borders. It lends itself well to exotic planting schemes and makes a bold statement with the variegated, strap-like foliage. As with most coloured varieties of cordyline 'Pink Champagne' is not quiet as hardy and the species so is best suited to a milder garden or protected during the winter months
