Description Plant Care Q & A Description

'Rosea' is a pink variety of Magnolia stellata, with pink buds opening into very pretty pale pink star-like flowers giving a beautiful, romantic display in spring.  Small compared to the other varieties, reaching only 2.5m after 20 years, this is an excellent choice where impact is desired in a limited space.  Green ovate leaves open towards the end of flowering to create an attractive shrub/small tree for the summer.  Hardy, plant in a sheltered spot in full sun/part shade in fertile, free draining soil.

  • Position: full sun/part shade, sheltered
  • Soil: most fertle soils
  • Eventual Size: 2.5m after 20 years

  • Foliage: deciduous, ovate, green leaves
  • Common Names: Pink star magnolia
