Quercus pontica (Armenian Oak or Pontine Oak)
Armenian or Pontine Oak from the caucus mountains of Georgia and north eastern Turkey.
Quercus pontica is a lovely small sized oak with large exotic leaves. It naturally forms a dense rounded canopy and is wonderfully architectural in its appearance. Quercus pontica is slow growing and perfect as an addition to the exotic or plant collectors garden.
During late May and June really pretty pale yellow catkins are produced. If you are lucky in the Autumn huge attractive acorns develop too.
Hardy, easy to grow and tolerant of most soils.
