Description

Acer japonicum ‘Acontifolium’ is just a beautiful, spreading japanese maple, with deeply cut leaves which emerge a very pale green in the spring before turning a dark green for the summer. The autumn colours are amazing, between scarlet red and dark purples. Site out of strong winds in light shade for the best results. RHS Award of Garden Merit.

  • Position:Dappled / part shade, out of cold, drying winds - especially coastal winds.
  • Soil:All soils, but avoid waterlogged areas very dry soils will need extra watering.

  • Foliage:Green deeply lobed in summer turning bright red in autumn.
