This semi evergreen variety of burkwoodii has wonderful large rounded heads of white fragrant flowers emerging from pink buds in March-April. Plant next to a path where the highly fragrant flowers can be fully appreciated. A bushy medium sized shrub with glossy, dark green foilage which turns shades of crimson/purple in autumn. Naturally a woodland plant, will tolerate sun to shade, will grow in most fertile, well drained soils. Makes an attractive informal hedge or lovely addition to the border. Holds RHS Award of Garden Merit. Hardy, shelter from cold, northerly winds.
