Aechmea recurvata var. recurvata
False Tillandsia
from £8.99
A super rare bromeliad from the cool mountains of Brazil. The stiff recurved leaves turn an amazing deep rich burgundy with red with pinky red flowers in the centre of each roseate. Eventually form a tight clump of many rosettes of leaves and flowers. We’ve been growing it here in West Sussex for nearly 10 years where it’s proved hardy through some serve winters. Tolerant of wind and full sun can be grown as an epiphyte, placed on the trunk or stem of a tree, palm or tree fern or planted in poor free draining soil. Make your own cloud forest!
Can be tied to a branch or trunk with a little moss around the roots or planted in free draining soil in the ground or container. Drought tolerant but will do best if occasionally watered!
