Pleioblastus chino ‘Elegantissima’ is a dainty bushy bamboo with long narrow leaves delicately variegated with creamy white stripes. ‘Elegantissima’ is useful for brightening up dull or shady positions in the garden where it can grow between 1-2 metres high.
It has a spreading root system so is best planted where it can spread or kept in place by using a root barrier. It also is easy to grow in a container and happy to be pruned or clipped. . Position: Full sun/shade out of cold, drying winds – especially coastal winds Soil: All soils, but avoid waterlogged areas very dry soils will need extra watering.
