Liriope muscari ‘Okina’ is a lovely evergreen perennial originating from Japan which has a strange common name , Lilyturf. I’ve grown Liriope for years, they are really useful flowering ground cover plants usually with deep green leaves and flowers ranging for sky blue to almost purple. ‘Okina’ is exciting in that the new spring growth is a startling white in colour which in time develop into leaves which are streaked dark green and white.

The flowers on Liriope muscari ‘Okina’ are produced from mid summer onwards and are produced in spikes 2000cm high ultimately developing into shiny black berries.
