Description
Xanthorrhoea glauca is a beautiful form of the ‘Australian Grass Tree’ with wonderfully glaucous-blue foliage. As with other grass trees it is a slow grower (in the extreme) only growing around 1cm per year! Native to Australia, but perfectly possible to enjoy here in the UK given the correct conditions.
We’d recommend a hot sunny position in a warm microclimate where they should at least be able to cope with minus 5 degrees centigrade given perfect drainage. Growing just one centimetre a year ultimately reaching 2-3 metres high, randomly branched they make incredible living sculptures being suitable for long term container cultivation and happy both outdoors and indoors in suitable bright conditions.
