Description
Callistemon laevis is a beautiful form of the much-loved ‘Bottlebrush’, prized for the incredible and exotic looking crimson-red flowerspikes which appear in abundance during late spring to summer. The flowers are a spectacuar sight – bright red ‘brushes’ standing out against the bright green foliage. New leaves emerge with wonderful hints of pink-red, turning to deeper green with age.
Plant in a sunny, warm position in free draining soil. May also be container grown to great effect. In cooler, frost-prone areas, give the plant some shelter to avoid frost damage. Prune immediately after flowering to ensure blooms for the following year.
