Otherwise known as ‘The Pygmy Date Palm’, Phoenix roebelenii is a fabulous compact palm with wonderfully tactile fronds of feathery arching foliage. The leaves are deep green and emerge from a slim and fibrous trunk. Highly exotic in appearance and although not overly hardy, may still be placed outside during the warmer months to great effect. Move indoors during cooler months into a bright position. Alternatively may be grown as a houseplant year-round in a bright position. As a little pick-me-up, a liquid seaweed feed may be applied during periods of growth.
