Acanthus eminens

Description

Acanthus eminens is a spectacular variety native to Ethiopia and Kenya and adored for the fabulous, large holly-like spiny leaves – bold and architectural.  As if that wasn’t enough, stunning spikes of deep-blue-purple flower heads emerge in the summer months creating a big impact!  Plant in a full sun to semi-shaded and sheltered position in fertile, well drained soil and allow enough space for this show-stopper to grow – it can reach up to 1-5 meters although here in the UK, we would anticipate a little shorter than this.
