Agave univittata ‘Quadricolor’

Description

An extraordinarily beautiful Agave native to Mexico and the southwestern United States.  Agave univittata ‘Quadricolor’ has the most exquisite fleshy leaves forming a rosette.  The leaves are bold with stripes of greens and yellow and toothed edges.  During colder spells the leaves may take on hints of pink. Reaching up to around 60cm in height, flowers may also form standing above the leaves.  Although not especially hardy, this is an excellent specimen for container growing and may be placed in full sun outside during frost free months. During colder months give this Agave a bright sunny position.  Be sure to not overwater – these Agave are from Arid regions and don’t like to become waterlogged.
