Description
Hosta ‘Halcyon’ is a stunning blue-leaved variety – in fact probably one of the best for blue leaves. It is of medium size with beautiful glaucous blue leaves which emerge as lance-shaped and then develop into heart-shaped. Pretty bell shaped pale lilac flowers appear in the summer months too.
Hostas perform best in partial shade, ideally with a little sun in the morning and they need rich, fertile compost. They may be grown in the ground or in containers but do watch out for slugs and snails. Container growing and the use of copper tape and gravel has proved successful in my garden!
**Please note: In winter months your hosta will be dormant and without foliage. During Autumn months hostas develop their Autumn colours and die back. Autumn is a great time for planting them but the plant aren’t as lush as they will be in Spring.**
