Amorphophallus sp. Philippines

Description

Amorphophallus sp. Philippines originates from the tropical regions of the Philippines – in case you hadn’t guessed from the name!  It’s a very rare and special specimen with a wonderfully colourful stem with green and pink and dark spots.  As with most Amorphophallus species, the inflorescence appears before the leaves develop. The exact identification has not yet been confirmed however it is possible that it’s a form of Amorphophallus paeoniifolius which has a large purple spathe held close to the ground.
