Description
Canna iridiflora is a breathtaking variety and prized for the sensationnal deep red-pink flowers which rise above the glaucous exotic foliage. Stems can reach up to 8ft in one season and the leaves alone create an exotic effect. Plant in a sunny, warm position in fertile soil. Although hardy in milder areas, we would recommend at the very least mulching once the leaves have gone over, ideally one would lift the corms and pot up into dry compost for over-winter storage. Cana iridiflora may also be grown to great effect in large containers making it easy to stage in the summer months and move inn for the winter. Plants will begin to send up shoots inn late April to early May. Do feed your beautiful Canna, liquid seaweed is an excellennt choice.
