Plectranthus ecklonii

Description

Plectranthus ecklonii is a beautiful shrubby, upright and tender perennial with fabulous aromatic leaves.  Originating from Southern/Tropical Africa, they are mostly found growing in understorey position in shade to semi shade, where the leaves can become larger.  This is an excellent plant for exotic schemes and in the summer, large spikes of deep purple, tubular flowers will appear which are loved by pollinators.  Do give the plant a tidy up after flowering to keep it nice and dense.  May be grown also in a container to great effect. You may successfully overwinter Plectranthus in a heated greenhouse or on a windowsill.  Feeding will enhance flower growth and our Liquid Seaweed extract is just the ticket!
