Salvia serboana is a truly stunning Mexican native which we’ve fallen in love with. The leaves alone are exotic looking – tactile, fuzzy and like those you would expect on a vine. Reaching up to 1.2m in height and width, during the summer months and into autumn, bold, intense blue flowers form, standing out and popular with our beloved pollinators. This tall and unusual Salvia is suited to sheltered gardens and planting in well drained, fertile, sunny positions, amongst grasses and other perrenials. Once the plant has died back, give it a generous mulch of organic matter to protect the roots and crown from penetrating frosts.
