Description
Yucca pallida ‘Blue Power’, also called the Pale Yucca, is native to Northern Mexico and parts of Texas. It boasts a wonderful rosette of narrow sword-like leaves, with attractive pale margins. These emerge a pale blue-green or grey, and mature to a striking powdery blue in summer months. In summer, the plant may produce an impressive flower spike that can reach 1 to 1.5 metres which holds clusters of creamy white flowers. The plant can ultimate reach 50-60cm tall and 100cm wide.
It does best in a sunny position with gritty, well-draining soil. It is drought tolerant, requiring infrequent watering and copes well in exposed positions. It will benefit from protection from the worst of winter frosts and moisture. If kept dry it is said to be able to tolerate down to -18 deg C.
