Curculigo crassifolia

Description

Curculigo crassifolia is a fabulous foliage plant from northern Vietnam looking very much like a young cocunut palm with broad deep-green strap like leaves, up to 1.5 metres long the underside is an attractive powdery cream colour.

In its native habitat growing on a range of conditions from steap stoney mountain sides to boggy stream banks in fertile soils. Here in the UK we’d suggest a mild garden although it will tolerate frost certainly down to -6 for short periods in a sunny to part shade position, planted ideally in free draining soil. 

Wonderfully architectural and should be planted more often.
