Description
Aloe x caesia (salm-dykiana) is a rarely seen Aloe which seems to be a naturally occurring hybrid between Aloe arborescens and Aloe ferox, producing broad glaucous leaves topped by stunning huge red flower spikes during the summer months. Apparently hardier than both its parents, Aloe salm-dykiana has been trialled in the UK tolerating temperatures down to minus 5. Given its fast growth and beautiful habit, worth a try in a very mild garden!
In the past it has been known as ‘Aloe x principis’.
