Agave vershaffeltii

Description

Agave potatorum ‘Verschaffeltii’ is a stunning and rarely seen Agave which forms a fabulous and relatively compact rosette of fleshy silvery-blue leaves with the charactaristic sharp point at the tips and toothed edges which are deep burgundy red.  The leaves are somewhat curved outwards creating a wonderful open appearance and often having the imprints of the new leaves on their surface.  Reaching up to aroudn 60cm in diameter, this is an ideal candidate for container growing, which will also allow you to move into a frost free location in the cooler months.  Plant in free draining soil and place in a sunny position.

These are 9cm plants, grown from seed on our nursery.  They will be quite happy to remain in these containers for the next season.  Do be sure to not over water them.
