Abutilon megapotamicum

(1 customer review)

Description

Abutlion megapotamicum is a fabulously exotic looking ‘shrub/climber’ giving a spectacular display of outrageous bright red bell-shaped, pendulous flowers made up of a large calyx with bright yellow petals – it really is bold.  The bright green, ovate leaves are semi-evergreen but in milder gardens may remain throughout the year.

Reaching heights of up to 2m, Abutilon megapotamicum will need some support to enable it to spread out, it’s not self clinging but can simply be tied in or wrapped around supporting wires or trellis.  Plant in a sunny, sheltered position in free draining soil.

May suffer frost damage in particularly cold areas however new growth should appear during spring!
