Clerodendrum bungei

Description

Clerodendrum bungei is a jungly looking shrubby perennial plant with deep green heart shaped leaves usually produced on a single stem which in summer is topped by a large head of tightly packed bright pink fragrant flowers, obsolutely gorgeous.  I like to plant it in dappled shade where the leaves grow the largest and the plant slowly forms a clump, producing new growth from underground suckers. Hardy enjoying most soils and benefiting from rich organic compost around the base of the plant. Can reach 150cm high if really happy.
