Description
Laurus nobilis, The Bay Tree, is a culinary hero and must have which happens to also form a conical evergreen tree or large shrub with glossy, dark green, aromatic leaves. During early summer masses of sulphar tiny flowers are produced much loved by bees and other pollinaters. Will respond very well to pruning, producing lovely dense foliage. This plant does well in coastal situations. Immediately reminiscent of the Mediterranean and is very under-rated as a high quality hedging plant. Thrives in sun or shade in any reasonable soil sheltered from cold, drying winds.
Harvest fresh leaves from the plant as and when you need them or pick and dry the leaves for storage.
