Description
Magnolia macrophylla, sometimes known as ‘Great Leaved Magnolia’ owing to the very large, ovate green foliage which has beautiful glaucous undersides. Leaves can reach up to 1m long. During mid-late summer, larger creamy-white cup shaped flowers form which are highly fragranced.
Hardy to around -5, this is a contender for milder gardens and requires a sheltered spot in moisture retentive, fertile but free draining soil in a sunny position.
