Description
Onoclea sensibilis or ‘sensitive fern’ is a deciduous fern. It has gained its name because, although it is hardy, its fronds are sensitive to any late winter frosts as they are just emerging. In the UK the new fronds usually appear, in later spring, after the risk of frosts has gone.
Onoclea sensibilis does best in moisture retentive soil and produces lush, bright-green fronds. Perfectly suited to a shaded, boggy area of your garden or perhaps by a garden pond.
**During the deciduous period, late September to early March, ferns will be shipped without foliage.**
