Spiranthes ‘Chadd’s Ford’

Description

Spiranthes ‘Chadd’s Ford’ is a spectacular deciduous terrestrial orchid which produces amazing spikes of stunning white, fragranced flowers during later summer to early autumn.  Flowers appear above a rosette of strappy green foliage and will reach around 45cm in height.  Plant in free draining but moisture retentive soil, in full sun to partial shade, in a sheltered position.  

We witnessed this stunning plant en masse and the effect of planting in this way was utterly breathtaking.  

At home in your own garden this can easily be recreated by planting swathes of 3 or 5 of the plants.  May also be container grown to great effect.

Plants sent out during autumn/winter will likely be dying back owing to their deciduous nature but this is of no detriment to the plant.
