Description
Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Seiryu’ is an unusual Japanese maple, for the fact that it is the only upright growing dissectum (the others normally having weeping and cascading growth). In the spring, the leaves appear a fresh, bright green with tinges of red at their margins. By autumn, the foliage is suffused with golden yellow and splashes of red – a very attractive maple. Reasonably fast growing, with an eventual height of around 2 to 3 metres. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
- Position:Part shade to full shade sheltered site preferred out of strong winds.
- Soil:All soils, but avoid waterlogged areas very dry soils will need extra watering.
- Eventual Size:2 to 3 metres, but can be pruned.
- Habit:Deciduous upright growing dissectum - very unusual.
- Foliage:Deciduous, dissected leaves.
- Common Names:Japanese maple 'Seiryu', green Laceleaf Maple.

We were very worried about the spreading of out of control bamboo but followed your advice and purchased the control barrier from yourselves for a raised bed. Not only did one of your helpful chaps show us how to fit it (on his way home!) he also pruned one of our other bamboos for us, it now looks wonderfully showy, we didn’t realise you could prune them this way!
