Description
Dyckia ‘Grand Marnier’ is a highly unusual and wonderfully exotic bromeliad. The silvery-green foliage is beautifully serrated with bright silvery-white edges, forming a bold, starry rosette. Dyckia are clump forming so you can expect offsets to eventually form at the base. A spectacular plant!
As you may expect, Dyckia is not super-hardy, so you will need to protect it from freezing conditions and wet winters. It will cope remarkably well in milder gardens however. We recommend container growing and placing in a full-sun to semi shaded position. Excellent in a bright conservatory or windowsil and may be placed outside during the warmer months. Ensure soil is free draining and reduce watering during the winter months. The plant must not become waterlogged.
Although the UK climate is somewhat more challenging, if happy, a tall flower spike may appear during summer, with stunning deep orange small trumpet-like flowers.
