Description
Zantedeschia aethiopica ‘Over the Moon’ is an exciting compact and very sturdy form of the well known ‘Arum Lily’, rarely growing more than a metre high, but producing huge broad, arrow shaped leaves up to 75cm long and 35cm wide. Â The pure white spathe or ‘flower’ is slightly twisted at the tip and often over 20cm long and 15cm wide.
‘Over the Moon’ has been named by us, courtesy of a highly respected plantsman. Â Our trials have shown that it is consistently easy to grow, tolerant of shade and dappled shade, preferring rich, moisture retentive soils. Â Should be hardy in most gardens given a sheltered location away from strong winds which can damage the huge deep green leaves. Â In most gardens once the frosts arrive, the plant will be semi or totally deciduous, retreating to its underground roots, during this time we would recommend a protective mulch of organic material to protect the plant.
