Description
Cornus kousa ‘Satomi’ is a deciduous, upright shrub giving a wonderful late spring display. four beautiful, soft pink coloured bracts surround the small green flowers . The mid green leaves turn purple and red in the autumn. The fruits are a strawberry red, adding late summer interest. Height 4 metres after 10-15 years. Upright, spreading. Grows in most fertile, free drained soils in sun/part shade in a sheltered spot. Named after the grand daughter of the Japanese nurseryman who found it. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
