Description
Alstroemeria ‘Indian Summer’ is an amazing, suckering perennial with deep-burgundy-bronze leaves produced in whirls on single stems which terminate into an explosion of firey orange, red yellow and black trumpet-like flowers. In my garden, Alstroemeria ‘Indian Summer’ first started flowering in late May and has remained in full flower right up to the first frosts of autumn, producing an incredible display of foliage and flowers. Ideally planted in a sunny position in fertile soil, this Alstroemeria csan also be grown in a container and does best in a sunny position. Although classed as half-hardy, I found it pretty tough in sheltered southern gardens. In colder areas, it can easily be dug up and the rhizomatus roots can be stored in a frost-free location during the doormant winter months.
**PLEASE NOTE – It is common during transit, that a little breakage may occur owing to the delicate nature of these plants – this is of no detriment to the plant and it will recover and be beautiful.**
