Description
Rubus lineatus is an extraordinary upright, semi-evergreen shrub. The foliage is highly exotic with large leaflets comprising 3 – 5 leaflets which are striking in their appearance owing to appearing almost pleated and having silvery undersides – exquisite. Small white flowers are produced from mid to late summer which develop into red fruits similar in appearance to raspberries which Rubus is related to. Rubus lineatus grows well here in the UK in fertile, well drained but moisture retentive soil. Plant in a sheltered spot, the plant will most likely lose a few or most of its leaves in a partucularly cold snap. Will reach up to 2m in height.
