Description
Piptanthus nepalensis is a beautiful medium sized ‘semi-evergreen’ shrub, native to China. Sometimes known as ‘The Evergreen Laburnum’, the new growth is tactile and fuzzy and during the summer months, fabulously bold yellow, pea-like flowers appear in abundance creating a spectacular show.
Plant in a sheltered position in full sun, in free draining soil. Hardy to around minus 15 degrees C. May suffer in severe cold so planting against a sheltered sunny wall is a good idea.
